Unha videoconferencia, Dous Poemas, Some Words and Lots of Bugs

Este día 12 de Novembro asistimos a una videoconferencia enmarcada nos actos que a Universidade de Santiago programa para celebrar o Día da Ciencia en Galego.

Trátase de conectarse dende o noso colexio á Universidade de Santiago que é quen a organiza. O tema serán os insectos e a relatora será Marilar Aleixandre profesora da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, onde ensina Didáctica das Ciencias e Educación Ambiental, dende 1988 e ademáis,una vella coñecida porque é autora de libros infantís, como "A formiga coxa" ou "Dez abellas na laranxeira".

Á espera de ver e escoitar a conferencia traballamos na clase lingua dous poemiñas de Manuel María que vos deixamos aquí para que disfrutedes destes dous "bichiños":

Let's make some egg carton bugs:

Here's what you can use to make our Egg Carton Bugs:

     Styrofoam egg carton
     Pipe cleaners
     Googly eyes
     Cardstock
     Hot glue

• First cut up the egg carton. The little flies each got a single egg compartment, the butterfly got two compartments  and the Caterpillar  four adjoining compartments.

• For the flies, take one pipe cleaner and cut it in half. 

• Glue both halves to the underside of the egg carton and then bend the wire in a U shape to make the legs. 

• Glue on another half of a pipe cleaners for the antenna.

• Fold a piece of cardstock in half and cut a heart along the fold, then glue this to the back of the egg carton to make the wings.

• Small googly eyes will complete the bug.

World Environment Day

Every June 5th is a day used by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of environmental issues.
World Environment Day began in 1972 as a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for themselves and future generations.

A BEAUTIFUL SPRING CRAFT

A Flower Crown

 

Make a pretty flowery crown from a paper plate and paper flowers. These are fun to make for Spring or Easter.

 

Supplies:

• A paper plate
• Colored construction paper or tissue paper
• Paint, markers, or crayons
• Scissors
• Glue
• Optional - glitter, crepe paper or other ribbons

Cut a slit through the center of the paper plate, leaving about four centimetres at the edges of the plate. Cut three more slits.

Bend the triangles formed by the cuts upwards, forming leaf-like shapes. Paint the crown light green (or use markers or crayons to color it). Let the paint dry.

Cut out some construction paper or tissue paper flowers for your hat. Any shapes will do - let your imagination run wild and invent your own flowers.

Glue flowers to the crown. Optional: Decorate it with glitter and/or staple two long ribbons of crepe paper to your beautiful hat.

Variation: Instead of flowers, make paper eggs, decorate them, and put them on your hat.
